How to Customize Filters in Tableau Date Filters, Dimension Filters

How do you customize filters in tableau here I have five different filters formatted a little bit differently I have a date filter where I can slide the filter left and right to show different dates I have a second date filter where I can choose what I want to see so I can choose today or I can choose let's say the previews here I have a business line filter where it's a multiple value drop down a second business line filter where it's a multiple value selector. A third business line where I can choose one at a time a single file value selector let's take a look at how to build each of these in tableau. Let's start with a date slider so if you drag date to filters and then choose range of dates click apply okay let's click the drop down on date and show the filter now I have a date slider I have a second date field I just made a copy and drag that to filters I'm going to choose relative date click apply okay this filter when I add it to the view. Gives me the choice between today yesterday last month this month Etc I have a business line field and we drag business line onto filters just choose all apply okay let's show this filter. It defaults to a multiple value list you can click the drop down on the business line filter and change it so if I wanted to be a single value drop down I can do that and now you have the choice to choose one at a time there's other choices but I'm going to show you the customized View right click customize I can change some things here I can exclude the show all value now only one can be chosen at a time. If you're using a multiple value drop down it's best practice to go to customize and choose show apply button now on the business line filter I can choose multiple business lines and then click apply for it to be applied hope this helps.
