Tableau: How to Use the Same Measure at Different Levels of Aggregation in the Same View




Step 1:

Drag sum(sales) onto the label mark.





Step 2:

Drag another sum(sales) to the detail mark. Change the aggregation to average instead of sum.





Step 3:

Drag the average pill into the middle of the view to show measure names and measure values.








Step 4:

Repeat steps two and three until you have all of the aggregations you want. This also works for table calculations like percent of total.






Step 5:

Add in your dimensions, and you have a finished view.
